Research everything you can find out about the voice over business.  Research the voice over industry like you would any other business or career that you would like to pursue.  If you are going to invest a lot of time and energy into something,  you need to make sure it's something you will enjoy doing even if you have to do it for free occasionally. Most of the things listed below are things I’ve learned on my own through trial and error or reading about them on the internet or in books. When I started I wished that someone had a step by step guide for me to follow that didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I could have saved myself a lot of “trial and error”.
